KC Definitions:

Puppy: confined to dogs of a specific breed and less than 18 months on the day of the Gundog Working Test (GWT). Novice: confined to dogs which have not gained an award or certificate of merit at a Field Trial, been placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in an Open GWT, or 1st in a Novice GWT. Open: open to all dogs of a specified breed, although preference may be given to dogs which have gained an award or certificate of merit at a Field Trial, been placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in an Open GWT, or 1st in a Novice GWT. Novice dog / Novice Handler: confined to a dog and handler who have not gained any award in a field trial or classified gundog working test, or won a Novice Dog/ Novice Handler test.
