Pointer & Setter Field Trials
**Wed 22nd July 2026: Novice & Open Pointer and Setter Field Trials**
The Novice stake saw 10 brace of dogs run in tricky conditions, with little or no wind in combination with warm temperatures which made scenting conditions difficult. 2 and half brace of dogs were successful in going through to the second round.
Results Novice:
1st and Guns choice Mr & Mrs Lounds PB Fleetstalk Fortitude
Conditions improved slightly for the 12 and a half brace in the open stake with an increased breeze, although scenting conditions remained problematic for some. 4 and a half brace went through to the second round.
We witnessed some excellent dog work in both stakes and the judges, Jean Collins-Pitman and Gwenda Dale worked hard to make the most of testing conditions.
We had a great day on the moor, special thanks must be given to the very kind hospitality of our host.
